Evening of Prayer and Panel Discussion for Tisha B'Av

On Monday August 4, 2014, IDI joined the Jerusalem Municipality, the Ginot Ha'Ir Community Council, and the Hartman Institute in hosting an evening of prayer and introspection marking the fast of Tisha B’Av, which commemorates the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. The evening took place at the Beit Yehudit Community Center in Jerusalem's German Colony.

8:30 pm – Reading of Eichah (Lamentations) by Prof. Menachem Lorberbaum and Dr. Channa Pinchasi

9:00 pm – Personal Lamentations (English): Tisha B’Av readings, Schechter Garden

9:00 pm – Panel Discussion (Hebrew): The Destruction of the Temple: Ethics and Law in the Public Sphere
