International Media Spokesperson
The Israel Democracy Institute is seeking an International Media Spokesperson to manage our robust international media activities. The suitable candidate will be a native-level English speaker and posses an in-depth familiarity with international media.
Job Description:
- Direct IDI’s communication efforts in the international media
- Lead initiatives to promote policy proposals, conferences and current events
- Draft, write, and distribute press releases, op-eds, and other content
- Respond to inquiries from media outlets and organize interviews with IDI experts
- Assist in development of English content on research and policy proposals
- Assist in development of content for IDI’s English-language website and social media platforms
- Initiate and maintain contact with international media representatives based in Israel and abroad
- Perform additional tasks as necessary
Requirements:
- At least five years’ experience in communications/spokesperson roles with the international media
- Familiarity with Israeli public policy issues
- Native English speaker highly proficient in Hebrew
- Strong and diverse English writing capabilities
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Curious and creative team-worker with excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Flexible approach to work hours—willing to work outside usual working hours
- Academic degree
