Labor-Gesher-Meretz
Founded in 2020
Labot-Gesher-Meretz is a joint list that was founded in January 2020 prior to the elections to the 23rd Knesset. Labor and Gesher ran together in the September 2019 elections but received only 6 seats. Meretz, who ran in these elections under the name Democratic Union won just 5 seats. The poor electoral showings raised concerns that in the 2020 elections these two lists might fail to pass the electoral threshold. As a result and despite ideological differences, Amir Peretz (Labor chairman), Orly Levy (Gesher leader) and Nitzan Horowitz (Meretz chairman) decided to ran together.
