IDI congratulates Mr. Avi Naor, member of our Board of Directors, and Mrs. Adina Bar- Shalom, who is involved in a variety of our projects, on being named the recipients of this year's Israel Prize for Lifetime Achievement—Special Contribution to State and Society. We commend the selection committee for its choice of such worthy recipients.

Mr. Avi Naor, a leading figure in Israel's high-tech industry, is receiving the Lifetime Achievement award for his work as the founder and funder of Or Yarok—The Association for Safer Driving in Israel. A member of IDI's Board of Directors, Avi Naor has played a crucial role reducing the number of traffic fatalities in Israel over the years and has been involved in a wide range of activities for at–risk youth and members of Israel's marginalized populations.

Mrs. Adina Bar-Shalom, the Founder of the Haredi College in Jerusalem, will receive the prestigious prize for her efforts to advance higher education within Israel's ultra-Orthodox community. The daughter of the late Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, Adina Bar-Shalom is currently participating in IDI's Israel Speaks: Human Dignity initiative, which is involving the Israeli public in drafting a Declaration of Human Dignity that will serve as a foundational document for the State of Israel.

As a past recipient of the Israel Prize for Lifetime Achievement for Special Contribution to Society and State, IDI is aware of the tremendous honor that is being bestowed upon these two individuals for their pioneering work and significant contributions to Israeli society.
