IDI Roundtable to Examine Israeli Policy Towards Illegal Migrants, Refugees, Foreign Workers

Monday, December 24, 2012 17:00 – 20:00, Israel Democracy Institute, Pinsker 4, Jerusalem – With recent waves of illegal migrants and continued efforts to import foreign workers, immigration policy is one of the most controversial issues on the Israeli domestic agenda. In order to further the discussion on Israel's immigration policy and its implications, the Israel Democracy Institute (IDI) will hold a roundtable discussion with key decision-makers and thought-leaders to analyze this complex issue. Critical questions that will be addressed include:

  • What kind of immigration policy should Israel have beyond the Law of Return?
  • Must Israel rexamine its policy toward refugees?
  • Who profits from and who is harmed by the importation of foreign workers?
