Prime Minister Netanyahu - 11 Consecutive Years
Another Milestone for Benjamin Netanyahu - 11 Consecutive Years as Prime Minister
On March 31, 2009, ten years after leaving the Prime Minister's Office following his defeat by Ehud Barak, Benjamin Netanyahu was elected Prime Minister of Israel and has continued to serve in office continuously for the past eleven years. This tenure puts Netanyahu in second place among the current leaders of OECD countries, after Angela Merkel, who has served continuously since 2005.
If we extend the perspective to all the democratic leaders who have served since the end of World War II, Netanyahu is in 18th place.
