Greens
The Greens (HaYerukim) was founded in 1997 with the goal of improving environmental policy in Israel through measures such as stopping environmental destruction, preserving the land, promoting a green economy, emphasizing the individual and his/her environment, and striving for civil liberty. Although this party has run in every Knesset election since 1997, it has never passed the electoral threshold. The Greens has had some success in municipal elections, however, and representatives of this party can be found in the municipal council of Tel Aviv and in over 10 other municipal authorities.
