Roundtable: The Study of Civics in Israel – Where to Now?

The Israel Democracy Institute | 4 Pinsker Street, Jerusalem

The Israeli society of tomorrow is being formed in today's civics classes. Because of this, we are witnessing an ongoing debate as to what is the right way to teach civics to Israeli students. Should we be developing critical thought or should we only display the "glass that is half full"? How much should we expose students to divergent visions of the State of Israel? On Wednesday June 15, 2011, IDI convened a panel of experts at its George Shultz Roundtable Forum, in order to stimulate professional and public discourse regarding this matter, out of a sense of responsibility to our common future in the Jewish and democratic state.

This Hebrew event was open to the public and was broadcast live on the IDI website.
