Dr. Lior Yohanani

Dr. Yohanani is a political sociologist whose research focuses on security, ethnicity, and immigration. His doctoral dissertation at Rutgers University examined why diaspora soldiers (“lone soldiers”) volunteer in the Israeli military and why and how the state recruits soldiers from abroad.
During his post-doctoral fellowship at Tel Aviv University, Dr. Yohanani explored the attitudes and relationships between Jewish and Arab students at higher education institutions in Israel.
Concurrently with his work at the IDI, Lior teaches a course titled "War and Terror in the Global Era" at Tel Aviv University".
